Steve is also an excellent Dipterist and has for a while been building up an online library of photos of identified insects on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/63075200@N07\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">his Flickr site<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhbs.com\/field-guide-to-the-bees-of-great-britain-and-ireland-book\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.nhbs.com\/field-guide-to-the-bees-of-great-britain-and-ireland-book\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"150\" height=\"240\" class=\"wp-image-1741\" style=\"width: 150px;\" src=\"http:\/\/tachinidae.org.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/81kM38OLQRL._SL1500_.jpg\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tachinidae.org.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/81kM38OLQRL._SL1500_.jpg 937w, https:\/\/tachinidae.org.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/81kM38OLQRL._SL1500_-187x300.jpg 187w, https:\/\/tachinidae.org.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/81kM38OLQRL._SL1500_-640x1024.jpg 640w, https:\/\/tachinidae.org.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/81kM38OLQRL._SL1500_-768x1229.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the Preston Montford tachinid identification workshop in February this year he came along and demonstrated how to use <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/63075200@N07\/collections\/72157721275574990\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the tachinid section<\/a> to help confirm your identifications, and I have to say it was very impressive indeed. He also stayed for the whole day and worked into the evening taking photos of specimens in my European tachinid collection to fill gaps in his library. We hope to collaborate some more too so it should become a really comprehensive online resource.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In fact, it&#8217;s so comprehensive that I&#8217;ve replaced our old galleries with a link directly to Steve&#8217;s Flickr tachinid collection \ud83d\ude42 <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Many of you will know Steve well or at the very least have read his excellent publications on bees, among others.
